Got a problem? That’s not a problem. Just stop by the magazine rack at your local supermarket or look at the cover of any magazine in your house, and you’ll be offered a solution.

“Health” offers “15 minutes to Firm, “ “Gorgeous Skin Overnight,” “Abs Made Easy,” “Flat Belly Fast,” “Curb Every Craving,”  “Makeup Tricks to Erase 20 Years.”

“Oprah” promises to tell you how to “Upgrade Your Whole Life,” “Expand your World,” “Discover the Secrets of Better Rest,” “How to Beat Stress in One Easy Step,” “Clean Your Closet and Lighten Your Load.”

In “Real Simple” you will find “Teach Your Kids to Tidy Up,”  “Better Hair with Half  the Effort,” “Find a Flattering New Work Dress.”

“AARP, The Magazine” gets into the act with “Feel Great Right Now,” “Get Fit in 15 minutes,” “Disrupt Aging,” “Stay Sharp,” “Live Longer,” “Strip Away Stress.”

Evidently the pitch is how to feel younger, be thinner, live a better life, and have better skin and hair. And do it all in record time. If only the solution were that easy.

About twofelines

What to say? I love my family and friends. I also love kids, cats, and books. Oh, and potato chips and Cheez-its. I am a retired teacher who still loves to be in the classroom, so now I am a substitute teacher.
