Google

Dear Google,

Thank you many times over for being such a helpful friend. 24/7 you are there to answer my questions, and you never ask, “Why would you want to know that?” or say, “I told you that last week!” I was going to keep track of my searches for a few days, but the list was way too long. But here are a few times recently you came to the rescue.

Scheduled to proctor an AP exam at the high school and wanted to make sure of high school code number…

Needed restaurant address for friend to put in GPS…

Who was the graduation speaker at my Tufts Graduation, 1960?…

That word on the music program doesn’t look like it’s spelled correctly. It isn’t. Proper spelling: “personnel.”…

I’m not Catholic, but wanted to make a Novena because my daughter was having major surgery…

Having trouble recalling the verse of a hymn…look for it in an old hymn book, it’s on one of three missing pages…

You might be interested to know that I now call you “Dr. Google” when I am searching answers for symptoms and cures. So far you have a better track record than my actual doctor.

I’ve donated my Merck’s Manual, Physician’s Desk Reference, and World Almanac to a book sale and keep my dictionary only because it has sentimental value.

Google, how did I ever live without you? I hope you will be my friend forever.

Sincerely,

© Dorothy C. Judd

About twofelines

What to say? I love my family and friends. I also love kids, cats, and books. Oh, and potato chips and Cheez-its. I am a retired teacher who still loves to be in the classroom, so now I am a substitute teacher.
