Most of the year I think I have pretty good self-control, but during the holiday season I sort of lose it. Too many temptations.

Mince pie

Pecan pie

Eggnog from McNamara’s, a local dairy

Plum pudding with hard sauce

Cookies – especially homemade – especially spritz candy canes

Fruitcake – yes, fruitcake

Holiday flavors of Hershey Kisses and M and M’s

Not just food

One more Yankee Candle – sugared apple

One more decoration

Self-gifting- usually nothing expensive, but always something

Impulse item– flip-flop socks for Avery

Over-budget on gifts

Holiday-themed jewelry, scarves, sweaters

There are just a few days left in this holiday season. Soon it will be time to pack up the decorations, as well as the excuses, and get on with the new year!

About twofelines

What to say? I love my family and friends. I also love kids, cats, and books. Oh, and potato chips and Cheez-its. I am a retired teacher who still loves to be in the classroom, so now I am a substitute teacher.
